Fertilizer FY2024

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Background and Purpose:

Scientists at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technology to solve high priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries. Fertilizer is required for the crops grown to feed the research animals.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

2.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

The requirement is for fertilizer in the amounts and applied as described below:

Item 1-Fertilizer, Urea, 46-0-0. Granular free flowing, not prilled. 190 TON Product with spreader application. Multiple application rates, approximately 2400 acres. March and May 2024 application period.

Applied as weather and field condition permit.

Item 2-Fertilizer, Urea Ammonium Nitrate, UAN 32-0-0. Multiple 975 TON delivery on an as needed basis. March 15 through Oct 31 2024. Final Quantity + or - 20% of estimated use. Vendor to provide for seasonal use of 3 tandem nurse trailers each 1000 to 1300 gallon units with 2 of the nurse trailers equipped with pumps and hoses with 2" couplers.

Item 3-Fertilizer, Ammonium polyphosphate solution, 10-34-0. 75 TON Delivery on an as needed basis. April 1 through May 15 2024.

Vendor to provide 1 each 1000-to-1300-gallon tandem axle trailers equipped with transfer pump and hoses, 2" couplers.

Item 4- Fertilizer, Monoammonium Phosphate, MAP, 11-52-0. 200 TON Product with spreader application. Multiple application rates, approximately 1500 acres. January through March 2024 application period.

Applied as weather and field condition permit.
