Specifications Grade 2 Yellow Corn FY24
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Background and Purpose:
Scientists at the Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) are developing scientific information and new technology to solve high priority problems for the U.S. beef, sheep, and swine industries. Yellow corn is used in rations for all three species of animals.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
2.0 Technical Requirements:
2.1 Product:
Grade 2 yellow corn (50,000 bushel)
2.2 Product Specifications:
US Yellow corn grade 2 (15.0% moisture max. Test Weight of 54 lbs./Bushel, Foreign Material 3% max, Damaged kernels 5% max, Head Damaged kernels .2% max). Corn must be delivered to USDA/ARS/USMARC; Clay Center, NE feed mill in hopper bottom trucks and any poor quality or foul/musty smelling loads will be rejected. Truck drivers will need to coordinate with feed mill operations on delivery times and schedules but normal hours of 7:00am -3:30pm Monday-Friday are anticipated. A scale ticket showing gross, tare, and net weight is required on every load delivered. A State of Nebraska certified scale is located on USMARC facilities and can be used for obtaining weights. Delivery must start upon contract award and must be delivered in full by 1/15/2024.
