About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the requirements for Preservation, Packaging, Packing and Marking (PPP&M), Barcoding, and Production of Coolers for WMEC 270 A, B Class Coast Guard Cutters. The document specifies three specific cooler types to be procured: a J/W Cooler (Fluid), an L/O Cooler, and an R/G Cooler, with a mandatory original equipment manufacturer (OEM) requirement that all parts must be purchased from Kam Thermal Equipment in Ronkonkoma, New York. The contractor must provide new OEM parts, with no reclaimed, recycled, or aftermarket components allowed, and must adhere to strict quality standards including high-quality workmanship, surface preservation, and packaging requirements.

Key technical specifications include using MIL-STD documentation for packaging and marking, applying specific paint coating systems, providing a Certificate of Conformance for each cooler, and implementing detailed barcoding and labeling protocols. The coolers must be packaged in skid-mounted shipping containers suitable for forklift handling, with bolted assemblies and protective cushioning. Quality assurance requirements mandate compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, with the U.S. Coast Guard reserving the right to conduct quality assurance inspections throughout the production and packaging process. Detailed documentation, including packing lists and digital photographs, must be provided with each shipment to ensure traceability and compliance with the contract specifications.
