About this file

This is a Statement of Work for the acquisition of two EVOS M5000SV Imaging Systems manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific/Life Technologies Corporation. The National Animal Vaccine and Veterinary Countermeasures Bank (NAVVCB) laboratory requires these systems for routine monitoring of cell lines and documentation of cytopathic effects critical to Foot and Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV) assays, propagation, titration, and virus neutralization studies. The systems provide high-resolution brightfield and fluorescence imaging with network drive integration to improve efficiency of imaging analysis and documentation.

The procurement requires delivery of two complete imaging system bundles (Part Number A65468) with integrated digital imaging capabilities, a 2-year expedited instrument replacement service, and remote onboarding and installation assistance. Supporting equipment includes two each of Phase Contrast Objective Bundles (4X, 10X, 20X magnifications), 40X Long Working Distance Phase Contrast Objectives, Fluorescence Light Cube Bundles (DAPI, GFP, Texas Red filter cubes), and Holder Packs for sample vessel mounting. All products must be brand-new (not refurbished or remanufactured), exact model numbers with manufacturer documentation confirming specification compliance. Delivery is required within 90 days of award to USDA NBAF, 1200 Kretschmer Dr. Suite 100, Manhattan, KS 66502, Attention: USDA APHIS FADDL, Molly Kroeger. Evaluation criteria include Lowest Price Technically Acceptable based on Technical Specifications, Past Performance, and Price.

Statement of Work Project: EVOS M5000SV Imaging System

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work: To acquire two EVOS M5000SV Imaging Systems.

2.0 Background: The National Animal Vaccine and Veterinary Countermeasures Bank

(NAVVCB) laboratory requires routine monitoring of cell lines for health, confluency, cytopathic effect, and contamination. Additionally, Foot and Mouth Disease Virus (FMDV) assays depend upon precise documentation of cytopathic effect for titer calculations.

Furthermore, the ability to directly link to network drives improves efficiency of imaging analysis and documentation of results. The Invitrogen EVOS M5000 Imaging System provides high resolution brightfield and fluorescence imaging allowing to the detection of cell morphological changes that are central to FMDV propagation, titration, and virus neutralization assays.
