About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a service contract for the Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research Lab (TFRL) to obtain annual maintenance for an Amsco 250LS steam sterilizer (autoclave). The lab requires a 1-year service agreement with four optional renewal years, covering preventative maintenance, unscheduled repairs, and technician travel costs. The service will include quarterly maintenance and repairs using STERIS-approved parts, with a commitment to complete unscheduled repairs within one week of issue reporting.

The work will be performed at the TFRL located at 1104 N. Western Ave. in Wenatchee, WA, during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). The critical need stems from the expiration of the current extended warranty, and the sterilizer is essential for daily research operations, supporting steam sterilization of laboratory materials including tools, chemical reagents, nutrient media, and biological waste. Travel costs for the service technician will be included in the contract and not billed separately to the government.

STATEMENT OF WORK

Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research Lab

Background The Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research Lab (TFRL) needs an annual service contract for our Amsco 250LS steam sterilizer (autoclave). All research programs at the TFRL have a daily need for steam sterilization of laboratory materials such as tools, chemical reagents, nutrient media for plant growth, and biological waste. The autoclave is the critical piece of equipment providing this function.

Objectives The current extended warranty for our AMSCO 250LS steam sterilizer has expired. We would like to retain repair coverage by purchasing an additional 1-year service agreement with four (4) option years from the manufacturer or a manufacturer-approved/authorized service provider.

Scope The service agreement should include/cover labor and parts for preventative maintenance, labor and parts for unscheduled repairs, and technician travel costs. Preventative maintenance and occasional unscheduled repairs are necessary to ensure the sterilizer is running consistently across research experiments, that it is meeting the performance specs it was designed for, and that research projects at the TFRL continue on schedule. Quarterly preventative maintenance, as well as unscheduled repairs on an as-needed basis, will be performed using STERIS-approved parts.

Deliverables or Delivery Schedule Preventative maintenance will be performed quarterly. Unscheduled repairs will be completed as soon as possible, and in no more than one week from the time the Government reports an issue with the machine.

Travel The service technician will travel to our Wenatchee location. Travel costs will be covered under the service contract and not billed to or reimbursed by the Government.

Place of Performance The service technician will perform work within the lab building at 1104 N. Western Ave., Wenatchee WA 98801. Access to the building will be provided by TFRL staff during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, Monday through Friday.
