Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Building 157 Roof Repair
1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 Background: The USDA, NCAH at 1920 Dayton Avenue, Ames, IA has a built-up bitumen roof that requires replacement due to age and numerous leaks. The roof’s estimated date of construction is between 1958 and 1962.
1.2 Scope of Work: The intent of this project is to provide a new white welded seam TPO roof membrane roof for Building 157. The dimensions of this building are 40ft by 60ft. Work will require stripping off the existing roof material and all roof insulation to the existing precast concrete deck. Subsequently, the contractor shall reinsulate and replace with a new white welded seam Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roof membrane, R15 or greater roof insulation, metal parapet cap, facia, down spout conductors, and downspouts. Asbestos abatement is necessary. As such, asbestos testing was performed (see attachments). Two areas (approximately 4 ft by 4 ft each) of flashing near exhaust fans were identified as needing appropriate abatement.
1.3 Note: Every effort has been made to depict this work in the attachments; however, the content included is approximated. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to visit the site of the proposed work and review the existing conditions there relating to construction and labor, and to be fully informed as to the facility involved, and the difficulties and restrictions that may affect the performance of the Contract. Failure to visit the site will not disqualify those submitting a proposal. However, change order requests for items that could have been reasonably ascertainable from a site visit (and included in a proposal) will be reviewed by the CO and evaluated accordingly.
