Statement of Work National Seed Lab Fire Detection and Notification

Dated June 24, 2020

1.0 SUMMARY

1.1 Background

The National Seed Lab located in Dry Branch, GA currently does not provide sufficient life safety in regards to fire detection and notification. A few manual, local alarm pull stations are located in the facility and are wired directly to ceiling mounted horns. There is no control panel. Smoke alarms are made by First Alert and are stand-alone devices, not hardwired. The Forest Service will advertise, award, and administer a design-build contract for the removal of the existing systems and the installation of an addressable fire detection and notification system.

Contractor shall be licensed in the State of Georgia to design and install Fire Detection and Notification Systems.

1.2 Description of the Work

This project is to include the following tasks:

A. The contractor shall provide an AutoCad or Revit (preferred method) floor plan of the facility. The Forest Service will provide a scan of the original drawings to the contractor as a reference. The contractor shall identify fire detection and notification systems on the drawings and submit to the COR for review and approval prior to ordering materials.

B. Complete removal of existing fire alarm and notification systems (devices, boxes, conduit, and wiring).
