Scope of Work: The contractor will provide all new parts, labor and materials for the replacement of exterior and interior doors in Bldg. Harned 1 and 36 located at USDA ARS MS State:

The contractor will provide labor and parts to replace all doors, frames and all mechanical door mechanisms as noted in the sow for repair, replacement and new addition of automatic door openers including handicap entrance.

This project is located at Building #1, R. W. Harned Building, USDA ARS MS State at 150 Twelve Lane, MS State, MS 39762

Project Objective: The objective of the project is to replace exterior and interior doors frames and hardware that need to be replaced with fire rated doors. This is the first phase of the EPAC project. The noted doors need to be replaced before the 2nd phase of the project.

Contractor must be registered in System for Award Management, (SAM), prior to submitting a bid.

i. Site Visit: Quoters are encouraged to visit the site and be escorted by a government representative to confirm locations, and present condition of the doors before a bid is submitted. The site visit shall be for the purpose of observing firsthand any conditions relevant to the completion of this project. No consideration will be given to claims based on lack of knowledge of existing conditions, except where contract documents make definite provisions for adjustment in cost or extension due to existing conditions not readily foreseeable. This project is located at USDA-ARS in MS State, MS.

Safety: The contractor will submit a Site Safety Specific Plan/Accident Prevention Plan in an industry recognizable format to the Contracting Officer within 7 days of contract award. The Plan shall include phone numbers and maps to the local Dr. Office and nearest Hospital. Service trucks will be disinfected by tire cleaning before entering the poultry farm.

Task List:

Provide materials and labor needed to replace all doors tagged for replacement. See Attachment for materials.

Replace the Doors, Frames, and Hardware Specified on the Submittal. Basement Interior, Basement Exterior, Micro Labl, G25, Boiler Room, Pump Room

Building 1 Back Pair, building 1 East Exterior, building 1 East interior, First Floor Middle Pair, Second Floor Middle Pair, Building 36 Front Entrance control arm.

All Doors are 45 Minute Fire Rated

All doors will be inspected and tested for proper functioning.

Contractor Responsibility:

1. Contractors shall keep the work area clean daily and take measures to control debris while work is being performed.

2. Contractors are required to manage the project and consult with the Government prior to beginning all work phases. And, to work in a manner that minimizes the impact of the work on

Government operations, research, and functions.

3. All work must be performed in such a manner as to not adversely affect the daily operations of the facility, its workers, and the onsite facility operations.

4. Remove all material and debris from the worksite and dispose off-site.

Material / Submittals:

The Contractor shall supply all materials necessary to successfully complete project. Submittals on all material incorporated into the work, including shop drawings parts and specifications, used on this project shall be submitted to the EPM and Contracting Specialist as noted in this document. Electronic submittals are acceptable otherwise three written submittals are required.

Execution of Work:

Contractor will verify all doors and frames that need to be replaced and site conditions prior to beginning work. Contractor will schedule any Emergency work between working hours as listed below. No

Government equipment will be available for use by the contractor. The contractor shall always be responsible for protecting his work and ensuring the safety of his crew and ARS employees. Upon completion of the project, the contractor shall remove from the premises all accumulated materials and rubbish caused by the project. Premises shall be left in a clean, orderly, and acceptable condition.

Warranty: All work performed must have a 1-year warranty.

Damage to Property:

Any damage to the Government buildings, utilities, etc. caused as the result of the contractor’s activities shall be repaired or replaced to the satisfaction of the Government Inspection and Acceptance:

A government representative shall inspect and approve the work performed on this project.

Project Schedule:

Project schedule for Harned Bldg. #1 will be coordinated with the Facility Point of Contact Neil Johnson.

Project shall not interfere with on-going research efforts. Any changes to the schedule must be in written request 7 days prior to the event of change.

Work Hours:

The contractor’s work hours will be Monday through Friday (7:30) A.M. to four thirty (4:30) P.M. except for Government holidays, we will be closed. All contractors are required to sign in and the beginning of each day and sign out. Any request for late work or weekend work needs to be submitted 7 days prior to the workday request.
