About this file

The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Vertical Ventilation Trainer, detailing precise requirements for a specialized firefighter training equipment. The trainer must be a metal-framed structure designed to create a 12' by 8' simulated roof surface using 8-foot 2x4 boards and three 4' by 8' plywood sheets, with a key feature being an adjustable slope/pitch to simulate various roof conditions. Additional critical specifications include the ability to accommodate a standard firefighting roof ladder for footing, mountability on a standard ISO shipping container, and mandatory safety rails or chains to prevent falling during training exercises.

The document is specifically tied to a Sources Sought pre-solicitation by the Department of the Air Force Space Command for Peterson Space Force Base, focusing on identifying qualified vendors capable of providing this specialized vertical ventilation training equipment. The equipment is intended to enhance firefighter training capabilities for personnel at Peterson SFB and in the local area, with vendors encouraged to submit qualifications demonstrating their ability to meet the detailed technical requirements outlined in the salient characteristics specification.
