About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for a Ti Sapphire Pump Laser System sought by the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). The specification details precise technical requirements for a single frequency, continuous wave diode-pumped solid-state 532 nm doubled YAG pump laser, with specific performance parameters including an output power of at least 18 W, laser linewidth less than 1 MHz, amplitude noise less than 0.1% RMS, and power stability less than 0.5%. Additional requirements include a TEM00 spatial mode, beam quality of 1.1 or better, an Invar baseplate for stability, a completely sealed optical system, linearly polarized output, integrated heat sink and chiller, and a web control interface.
The associated federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: FA700025Q0059) is being managed by the 10th Contracting Squadron at USAFA, with the intent to award a firm fixed-price contract for the Ti Sapphire Laser Pump. The solicitation is prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, and notably includes a critical caveat that funds are not currently available, and no award will be made until funding is secured. Quotes must remain valid through September 30, 2025, and the government reserves the right to cancel the Request for Quotes (RFQ) at any time, with vendors bearing their own quote preparation costs.
