About this file
Attachment 1 details the salient characteristics and requirements for two In-vivo Dosimetry systems for the Radiology Department at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC). The systems must meet extensive technical specifications, including real-time dose measurement across stationary and rotational radiotherapy modalities, capability to measure doses from low to high energy for photons and electrons, and ability to measure multiple high photon dose points simultaneously. Key requirements include wall-mountability, direct data export to Varian's ARIA Oncology Information System, automatic temperature correction, software with Record and Verify interface, and FDA 510(k) clearance.
Additional technical specifications include a medical power supply operating on 100-240 VAC, 12-hour rechargeable NiMH battery, bipolar polarity detectors, and a warm-up time under 30 seconds. Biomedical considerations specify that the vendor will provide a user manual and assist with software installation, while BAMC's Therapeutic Medical Physics team will handle calibration. After the initial one-year warranty, BAMC Biomedical Engineering will manage the support and service contract. This Sources Sought notice is part of market research to identify potential contractors, with responses due by 10:00 AM CST on 25 June 2025.

ATTACHMENT 1
Salient Characteristics
Salient Characteristics:
1) The system must be able able to measure dose in real time.
2) The system must be able to measure dose in both stationary and rotational radiotherapy modalities.
3) The system must be able to measure dose from low to high energy range for both photons and electrons.
4) The system must be able to measure IO high photon dose points simultaneously using multiple channels.
5) The system must provide automatic patient temperature correction and leakage compensation.
6) The system must allow direct data export to Varian's ARIA® Oncology Information System.
7) The system must be wall mountable with no cables lying on treatment room floor.
8) Its software must provide Record and Verify interface, automatic correction factor tools and Expected vs Measured dose difference visual indicators.
9) The system must allow software updates.
Minimum Clinical Performance Requirements
1) See Salient Characteristics section above.
Source Considerations
1) Medical power supply operating on 100-240 VAC, 47-63 Hz mains, providing 18 VDC outputs (Control Module); 12 hr Rechargeable NiMH battery (Detector Module);
2) Polarity: Bipolar (negative or positive polarity detectors).
3) Warm-up time:< 30 sec.
Biomedical Tech Considerations
I) Vendor will provide User's Manual and assist with software installation.
2) All calibration will be performed by the Therapeutic Medical Physics team at
BAMC Radiation Oncology Service.
3) Regarding Support and Service Contract after the equipment warrantee expires after
1 year, BAMC Biomedical Engineering (BES) will be in charge of managing that contract.
Certifications
1) Must have FDA's 510(k) clearance.
