About this file

This document is an Attachment 1 Salient Characteristics specification for a Fire Pump Operations Simulator, dated 11 June 2025, for the Department of the Air Force at Aviano Air Base in Italy. The specification details a modular, full-size training system designed to replicate fire engine pump panel operations, featuring a free-standing cabinet with authentic OEM hardware, LCD displays, and touchscreen interfaces. The simulator must emulate hydraulics, water sources, and pump operations through software modeling, supporting multiple pump, nozzle, and hose configurations while complying with NFPA 1002 standards.

The contractor is required to deliver on-site Operation & Maintenance training and advanced training for approximately 70 Fire Department personnel. The simulator's key technical specifications include a generic top-mount pump panel replica, electronic/digital control functionality, Class A foam control, an Instructor Operator Station with scenario editing capabilities, and industry-standard student assessment forms. The unit operates on standard 115V/15Amp power, weighs approximately 800 lbs, and has dimensions of 56"x 61"x 70", designed to fit through standard doorways for easy classroom installation.

Salient Characteristics Fire Pump Operations Simulator

Description of Requirement:

The fire pump operation training simulator must be a modular, full-size training system designed to replicate the operation of a fire engine pump panel. Available in top-mount and side-mount configurations, it should include a combination of authentic OEM hardware and LCD displays within a free-standing cabinet. The simulator must accurately emulate hydraulics, various water sources (pressurized and static), and support multiple pumps, nozzles, and hose configurations.

Its software must simulate internal pump operations, allowing trainees to experience realistic scenarios without the use of actual water or foam, thereby reducing environmental impact. The system needs to include an Instructor Operator Station (IOS) with a touchscreen interface, enabling instructors to control simulations, set conditions, insert malfunctions, and assess student performance. The simulator must operate on standard 115V/15Amp power and is designed to fit through standard doorways, facilitating easy installation in classroom environments.

The contractor shall be required to deliver on-site Operation & Maintenance training and on-site advanced training on the Fire Pump Operations Simulators for approximately 70 (seventy) 31 Fire Department personnel.

See below summarized technical specifications.
