About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) providing preliminary technical specifications for a European armored tactical vehicle. The Government seeks industry feedback on a new, commercially available, four-wheel-drive armored vehicle capable of transporting personnel and equipment in off-road and security-force operating environments. The specifications are explicitly identified as preliminary and NOT final solicitation requirements, subject to revision based on industry input.
The RFI outlines detailed salient characteristics across ten major categories. Vehicle configuration requirements include four-wheel drive capability, ground clearance exceeding 340 millimeters, wheelbase between 3,230-3,530 millimeters, capacity for at least four crew members, diesel engine with automatic transmission, left-hand steering, payload capacity of at least 1,500 kilograms post-armor installation, adjustable steering column, side mirrors, and reverse camera. Protection specifications require respondents to identify ballistic protection levels, mine and blast protection levels, IED-related protection capabilities, and applicable test standards including STANAG 4569 levels, along with details on armor installation methods and effects on vehicle performance. Additional categories address weapons-mounting provisions for Government-approved mounts or turrets; mobility performance including slope traversal and climbing capabilities, fording kits, central tire-inflation systems, and run-flat capability; braking and electrical systems compliant with UN/ECE Regulation No. 13 and NATO standards; towing and recovery equipment; personnel access and crew safety features; communications and equipment integration capacity; training, manuals, and diagnostic support; and vehicle colors, camouflage patterns, and exterior finishes. The RFI explicitly prohibits inclusion of classified information, controlled threat information, weapons, ammunition, or classified technical data in responses.
