About this file
The attached document is a Salient Characteristics specification for an infrared camera system. The document details precise technical requirements for a lens system to be used in mission support, specifically for the FLIR RS6780 Camera System. Key technical specifications include an Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector with a 3.0 - 5.0um spectral range, 640 x 512 pixel resolution, closed-cycle rotary sensor cooling, and a 50-250mm continuous metric zoom lens that can extend to 150-750mm with a 3X lens attachment.
The camera system is intended for Vandenberg Space Force Base to support high-speed imaging of space launch missions, replacing older unsupported camera systems on mobile optics tracking systems. The system includes advanced features such as a high-speed 3-Year CoaXpress data recorder with Research Studio Pro Software, an imaging capability ranging from 10 deg C to 3000 deg C, and a self-contained filter wheel for neutral density filters. The solicitation (FA461025Q0027) is issued by the Department of the Air Force Space Command for the procurement of two IR Camera Systems that must meet or exceed the specified technical characteristics.
