About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a data center backup and recovery solution for Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi. The project requires a technical refresh of the existing network backup solution, with the contractor responsible for providing personnel, equipment, installation, configuration management, and services within 30 days of contract award. The backup solution must support multi-vendor environments, include multi-factor authentication, perform various backup types (full, incremental, archiving, snapshots), and recover data across Windows and Linux devices.
Key technical requirements include two geographically separate hardware devices managed via the same web console, encryption of data in flight and at rest, immutable storage that prevents data modification, and a minimum of 80TB raw storage scalable for future expansion. The solution must be DISA STIG compliant, support zero trust capabilities, and be a turnkey solution with administrator training. The project will be implemented at Columbus AFB, MS NCC Building 932, with deliverables including installation records, work schedule, status reports, meeting minutes, and test plans/reports. The contractor must also comply with extensive security protocols, including background checks, property protection, and industrial security requirements.

AT
COLUMBUS AIR FORCE BASE, MISSISSIPPI
Revised 28 August 2025
Attachment 1: Statement of Work
1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Columbus AFB requires technical refresh to the existing network backup solution located at 139 F Loop, Columbus AFB, MS Bldg. 932. The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, installation, configuration management, labor, material, documentation, and services in support of the program. Services include project management and systems engineering services in support of the design, site preparation/development, equipment installation and optimization, acceptance testing, and warranty. 2. BACKGROUND
The existing CAFB data backup appliance is past end-of-life and has failed. Due to its end-of-life status, the manufacturer no longer supports the device and replacement parts are no longer available. The base has no capability to back up or restore any data stored on base servers. Failure to replace it will result in an inability to restore files, databases and print services in the event of hardware failure. This issue also places the base in a non-compliant state, regarding the COOP and DRP. Columbus AFB. 14CS requests the execution of an all-in-one backup solution with updated software and two hardware appliances. This solution will fix backup and restoration issues for all servers and data as well as meet compliance with CIIP/DRP and provide redundant, geo-diverse capability.
