SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

High-Performance Sewer Cleaning and Sludge Disposal Pump Trucks (ADR Certified)

1. General Concept & Scope The contractor shall deliver a turnkey, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) High-Pressure Flushing and Suction-Pressure Tanker truck, modified to meet the specific environmental and hazardous material (ADR) requirements detailed below. The vehicle will be used for sewage removal, cleaning of storm/sewer pipes, POL/grease separators, and emergency hazardous spill response. The contractor shall provide the complete vehicle (chassis and body integrated), all necessary support equipment, nozzles, manuals, and initial training.

2. Chassis Requirements The chassis must be a heavy-duty commercial truck chassis suitable for municipal/industrial sanitation operations, meeting the following minimum salient characteristics:

• Axle Configuration: 3-axle (6x2 configuration).

• Weight Capacity: Minimum Permissible Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 28,000 kg.

• Engine: Diesel engine producing a minimum of 450 HP (approx. 335 kW).

• Suspension: Reinforced front and rear springs with stabilizers suitable for high-center-of-gravity liquid loads.

• Power Take-Off (PTO): Equipped with necessary PTO interface to drive the vacuum and high-pressure pumps.

• ADR Safety Modifications (Type Class AT/FL): Must include a pneumatic battery main switch (operable from cab and exterior), insulated/vented battery box, and fire shield over the frame width.

3. Tank & Body Specifications

• Capacity: Minimum 14,000 liters total internal volume.

• Certification: Constructed, tested, and certified to meet ADR Type AT/FL (Tank Code L4BH) requirements. Minimum test overpressure rating of 4.0 bar.

• Partitioning: Must feature a pneumatically/hydraulically operated movable internal piston to divide the tank into variable-capacity water and sludge chambers. Piston must feature heavy-duty seals (e.g., NBR rubber) and energy-absorbing end stops.

• End Cover: Hydraulically opening rear end cover providing full cross-sectional access, secured by central pneumatic locking claws. Safety interlock must prevent opening while the tank is pressurized.

• Emptying: Capable of emptying via free outflow or pressurization (minimum 0.5 bar operating overpressure) via the lower suction connection.

• Safety Guards: Must include TÜV-tested rear and side underride protection compliant with ECE R58-03 (or equivalent Host Nation standard).

4. Suction-Pressure (Vacuum) System

• Pump Performance: Rotary compressor vacuum pump capable of a minimum flow rate of 1,500 m³/h at 60% vacuum (400 mbar) and capable of achieving a maximum vacuum of 90% (100 mbar).

• Cooling: Liquid/water-cooled system.

• Filtration/Protection: Must include an upstream centrifugal separator (minimum 100 L) to protect the pump from over-sucked media, equipped with foam-breaking inserts and automatic float-ball shutoff.

• Telescopic Boom: Hydraulically operated boom for suction hose guidance. Must provide a minimum lifting height of 4.5 meters above ground and minimum 180-degree slewing capability. System must hydraulically telescope/adjust height without stressing the suction hose.

• Sludge Water Return: System must feature a back-flushing capability allowing clear/filtered water to be pressurized and returned to the sewer while mineral solids are retained in the tank.

5. High-Pressure (HP) Flushing System

• Pump Performance: High-pressure water pump capable of delivering a minimum of 300 liters/minute at a minimum operating pressure of 170 bar.

• Primary Hose Reel: Hydraulically swiveling (approx. 180 degrees) large hose reel with automatic, even-winding cross-lead screw. Must be supplied with a minimum of 180 meters of DN 25 high-pressure sewer flushing hose (minimum 200 bar operating pressure).

• Secondary Hose Reel: Manual or powered small hose reel supplied with a minimum of 60 meters of DN 13 high-pressure hose.

• Safety System: Integrated water shortage warning system (audible alarm) with automatic pump shutdown to prevent cavitation damage.

6. Electrical & Control Systems

• Lighting: Minimum of two (2) LED rotating beacons, LED ambient/work area floodlights covering the boom and reel areas, and a detachable LED work light at the rear.

• Camera System: Color rear-view video system integrated with the cab display (minimum IP65 weatherproof rating for the camera).

• Main Control Station: Centralized CAN-BUS control system housed in a moisture-proof (minimum IP65) cabinet at the rear of the vehicle. Must feature a digital display monitoring RPM, pressures, temperatures, and water levels with automatic error-message readouts.

• Remote Control: Wireless radio remote control with a minimum range of 150 meters, capable of operating the boom (lift, slew, telescope), hose reels, engine speed, and emergency stop functions.

7. Attachments & Accessories

• Storage: Integrated weatherproof hose storage boxes and lockable toolboxes.

• Hygiene Station: Onboard hand washing device with a water container (minimum 5 liters) and integrated water heater capable of reaching approx. 38°C.

• Nozzle Package: The vehicle must be delivered with a comprehensive set of ceramic-insert cleaning nozzles, including at minimum: forward jet nozzles, pipe cleaning nozzles (1/2" and 1"), pointed nozzles, heavy "grenade" style nozzles, and a rotating recycling nozzle.

• Safety Equipment: Must include all ADR-required safety equipment, including earthing spike/reel, fire extinguishers, hazard placarding frames, and spill/waste collection bins.

8. Certifications, Documentation & Training

• Certifications: The completed vehicle must possess:

• TÜV expert opinion for individual permit (§ 13 EG-FGV).

• Tank acceptance/certification according to ADR (Tank Code L4BH).

• T9 certificate for the transport of dangerous goods.

• CE marking and Declaration of Conformity.

• Documentation: Operating instructions, maintenance/lubrication plans, spare parts lists, and circuit diagrams must be provided in German (1x physical copy, 1x digital copy).
