About this file

This document is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the creation and installation of a movable display to capture the history of the B-2 Spirit numbers at the 13th Bomb Squadron at Whiteman AFB. The display needs to be museum-worthy, as it will be viewed by hundreds of distinguished visitors annually.

The PWS outlines the requirements for an approximately 8-foot by 10-foot display that can accommodate up to 1,000 individual names and Spirit numbers in numerical order on small plaques. The display should include a backlit B-2, patches for the Whiteman AFB Wing, Group, and Guard, and a Spirit number description. The contractor will be responsible for creating the display and installing it within six months of contract award, with the ability to add up to 160 additional names over time. This PWS is associated with a Request for Information (RFI) for the Spirit Board Purchase, issued by the Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command.

Performance Work Statement B-2 Spirit Number Display

Bldg 153 13th Bomb Squadron Whiteman AFB 11 March 2024

1.0 SCOPE/General Description

Create one movable display that captures the B-2 Spirit Number history to hang in the 13th Bomb Squadron until B-2 retirement, at which point it will be moved to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AFB to accompany the B-2 currently there on display. The display will explain the history of the B-2 Spirit number while listing out all current and future names on an individual space (up to 1,000 individuals).

The display needs to be museum worthy, as it is viewed by hundreds of Distinguished Visitors a year.

2.0 Services

The primary place of performance is the 13th Bomb Squadron at Whiteman AFB (Bldg 153).

Access would be required on base for one day to deliver and install the display.

3.0 Requirements

Requesting an approximately 8 foot (length) by 10 foot (height) display able to be moved to display 1000 names and spirit numbers in numerical order on small plaques. Display will have a back lit B-2, Whiteman AFB Wing, Group and Guard patch, Spirit number description (to be provided), and place for up to 1,000 names to be displayed. Display will not be made of wood.

By the time this contract is fulfilled, there will be approximately 840 names already determined.

These would need to be included in the delivery (information to be provided) with room for the remaining 160 to be filled in as Spirit Numbers are given out.

4.0 Period of Performance

Contractor will create the display board and install it within six months of contract award (extension considered by 13BS with extenuating circumstances). Names and new spirit numbers will also need to be produced up to 1,000, sent to contractor 10 at a time for production.
