1.0 PURPOSE & BACKGROUND

The purpose of this contract is to perform a terrestrial gravity survey in the country of Mongolia to tie into existing holdings for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). NGA has a mission-critical need for gravity data over the country of Mongolia. Specifically, terrestrial data is needed as a high-resolution data set for our Earth Gravity Model.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK

2.1 BASE YEAR

1.) The Contractor shall survey a minimum of 750 new gravity stations inside Mongolia.

2.) The Contractor shall survey at a 5 km spacing along an approximately 1000 km section of the

Mongolian-Chinese border. The Minimum Bounding Rectangle (MBR) is defined by a box whose corners are Latitude 49.86 Longitude 114.968 in the northwest, Latitude 46.481 Longitude 114.968 in the southwest, Latiude 49.86 Longitude 120.098 in the northeast, and Latitude 46.481 Longitude

120.098 in the southeast.

3.) The Contractor shall survey to a distance of 25 km from the Chinese border into Mongolia.

4.) The Contractor shall simultaneously collect precise GPS locations and both orthometric and ellipsoidal heights.

5.) The Contractor shall obtain all necessary permissions from the Mongolian government such as the

General Authority of Border Protection Forces and the Ministry of Defense.

2.2 OPTION YEAR ONE

1.) The Contractor shall survey a minimum of 850 new gravity stations inside Mongolia.

2.) The Contractor shall survey at a 5 km spacing along an approximately 1130 km section of the

Mongolian-Chinese border. The MBR is defined by a box whose corners are Latitude 46.557

Longitude 108.57 in the northwest, Latitude 42.382 Longitude 108.57 in the southwest, Latiude

46.557 Longitude 117.478 in the northeast, and Latitude 42.382 Longitude 117.478 in the southeast.

3.) The Contractor shall survey to a distance of 25 km from the Chinese border into Mongolia.

4.) The Contractor shall simultaneously collect precise GPS locations and both orthometric and ellipsoidal heights.

5.) The Contractor shall survey to an accuracy 1mgal or less.

6.) The Contractor shall obtain all necessary permissions from the Mongolian government such as the

General Authority of Border Protection Forces and the Ministry of Defense.

2.3 OPTION YEAR TWO

1.) The Contractor shall survey a minimum of 850 new gravity stations inside Mongolia

3 | P a g e

2.) The Contractor shall survey at a 5 km spacing along an approximately 1146 km section of the

Mongolian-Chinese border. The MBR is defined by a box whose corners are Latitude 43.19

Longitude 96.13 in the northwest, Latitude 41.385 Longitude 96.13 in the southwest, Latiude 43.19

Longitude 108.102 in the northeast, and Latitude 41.385 Longitude 108.102 in the southeast.

3.0 CONTRACTOR DELIVERABLES

3.1 BASE and OY Contract Deliverables

NGA will receive the processed free-air and Bouguer gravity anomalies and orthometric heights in the

WGS 84 Reference System for all points collected in the base and option years listed above. The gravity anomalies shall be accurate to one (1) mgal and the orthometric heights shall be accurate to at least 50

cm. The gravity anomalies shall also be referenced to absolute gravity stations. The data format shall consist of: Latitude, Longitude, Orthometric Height, ellipsoid height, Free-Air Gravity Anomaly, Bouguer

Anomaly as displayed in the Point Gravity Anomaly Data Format Guide Below, and shall be supplied on appropriate electronic media.
