About this file

This document is a Minimum Specifications file for a Livestock Respiration Chamber, detailing technical requirements for a scientific research instrument designed to analyze gas emissions from beef cattle. The specifications outline the need for a chamber capable of measuring methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and hydrogen eructation from individual animals, with the ability to aggregate herd-level data. Key technical requirements include solar panel and trailer-based mobility, WiFi and cellular data transfer capabilities, Windows-compatible software, autocalibration functionality, and capacity to sample up to 30 animals simultaneously. The device is intended to support research into ruminal microbial compositions and feed efficiency to improve cattle productivity, with provisions for on-site training and installation included in the specifications.
