About this file

This document is an Attachment 1 - Minimum Specifications for a federal contract opportunity for a Robotic DNA Extraction System. The government requires 1 fully automated nucleic acid extraction robotic platform that can simultaneously process 8 x 96-well plates of samples within 4 hours with walk-away operation following tissue lysis. The system must utilize magnetic bead-based chemistry, accommodate a wide array of plasticware, and have compatible reagent systems for purification of nucleic acids from plant tissues. The government also requires on-site installation, applications training, a 12-month warranty, and delivery to the specified location.

The related federal contract opportunity is Solicitation Number 12805B24Q0504 for a Robotic DNA Extraction System, issued by the USDA Agricultural Research Service Plains Area. This is a commercial item request for quotation with a firm fixed price purchase order anticipated. Quotes are due by 6:30 am CT on August 6, 2024. The solicitation incorporates relevant FAR clauses, and award will be made to the responsible offeror whose quote conforms to the specifications and is most advantageous to the government considering technical acceptance, past performance, and price.

Attachment 1 – Minimum Specifications The government requires Qty = 1 fully automated nucleic acid extraction robotic platform that:

· Utilizes magnetic bead-based chemistry for extraction

· Simultaneously processes 8 x 96-well plates of samples within 4 hrs time with walk-away operation following tissue lysis.

· Automatically collects all liquid waste into one enclosed container.

· Minimizes plastic waste by requiring no more than one plate for lysate, one plate for bead-based purification, and one plate for the final purified array of 96 samples..

· Has compatible reagent systems for purification of nucleic acids from plant tissues.

· Accommodates a wide array of plasticware with varying height and shape, within the standard 8 x 12 array format

· Incorporates safety measures to automatically stop the robot movement when access doors are opened.

· On-site installation and applications training.

· 12 month warranty on parts, labor, and travel.

· Delivery to 4302 Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center, Manhattan, KS 66506-5502
