About this file
E-DNA Auto Sampler Requirements and Attachments
This document is a requirements specification for autonomous environmental sampling equipment. The procurement calls for two (2) autonomous e-DNA auto sampler units capable of collecting water samples for environmental DNA analysis in freshwater environments. The units must feature modular systems supporting filtration, preservation, and water collection with autonomous and/or tethered operation modes. Each sampler shall have a user-friendly programming interface and integrated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) or equivalent traceability system with Bluetooth and/or satellite communication capability. All components must be compatible with standard sterilization protocols (autoclave or bleach).
The samplers must meet specific performance parameters: maximum eight (8) samples per deployment with operable filter pore size ≥5.0µm; operating temperature range of 0–40°C; lift capability 0–2m above water surface; water-resistant enclosure rating (IP 43); flow rates between 0.1–1.4L/min; and volume measurement accuracy ≥95%. GPS compatibility must support GNSS standards (GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou) with ~2.5M position accuracy. The physical design shall be compact (24–30 in length, 17–24 in width, 12–16 in height) and weigh ≤100 lb for remote deployments. Power specifications include 12.8V 22.5Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate rechargeable batteries with minimum 3+ hour pumping runtime and ~30-day maximum deployment duration on battery alone, plus optional solar panel charging capability. Deliverables include four (4) total batteries (two per unit), two (2) chargers, two (2) solar panel chargers (if available), intake hoses, connectors, strainers, sterilization filters, two (2) custom carrying cases, and shipping straps. A manufacturer's standard warranty with minimum one-year parts and labor coverage is required.
