About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the procurement of vertical automated storage and retrieval systems by the 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (100 AMXS) at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in the United Kingdom.
The contractor shall furnish, deliver, install, test, commission, and place into full operational service two (2) complete vertical carousel storage systems designed to improve tool accountability, storage density, organization, security, and efficiency for aircraft maintenance operations. Each system must fit within approximately 100 ft (L) × 25 ft (W) × 15 ft (H) installation space in Building 809, Room 1.65; support a minimum distributed load of 650 kg per storage carrier; and provide a minimum total system storage capacity of 19,000 kg. The systems must include integrated safety features (emergency stop devices, access protection, overload protection, operator safety interlocks), secure user access and inventory organization capabilities, and operate from Government-provided 400V three-phase electrical service connected to a minimum 20-amp external isolator. All work shall comply with U.S. Department of War requirements and United Kingdom codes and standards. The contractor must manage all resources, maintain a single point of contact, and perform work Monday through Friday, 0800–1700 local time unless otherwise coordinated. Delivery and installation must be completed within 90 calendar days after contract award. The contractor shall provide all operating manuals, maintenance documentation, on-site operator training, and a minimum one-year warranty covering parts and labor. Acceptance occurs following successful installation, operational testing, safety verification, commissioning, documentation delivery, and completion of operator training.

1.1 Mission
The mission of the 100th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (100 AMXS) is to provide safe, reliable, and mission-ready aircraft maintenance in support of global aerial refueling operations. This procurement supports maintenance operations by improving tool accountability, storage density, organization, security, and efficiency through the acquisition and installation of a vertical carousel storage system.
1.2 Background
The current tool storage configuration within Building 809 limits storage capacity, organization, and efficient retrieval of mission-essential tools. A vertical carousel storage system will maximize available floor space, improve inventory management, reduce retrieval times, enhance tool accountability, and improve security while supporting aircraft maintenance operations.
1.3 Scope
The Contractor shall furnish, deliver, install, test, commission, and place into full operational service a vertical automated storage and retrieval system meeting the performance requirements contained herein. The system shall be complete with all hardware, controls, safety devices, installation materials, documentation, operator training, and warranty.

The Contractor shall manage all resources necessary to successfully execute this requirement, maintain a single point of contact, coordinate subcontractors (if applicable), and perform work Monday through Friday, 0800–1700 local time unless otherwise coordinated with 100 AMXS/MXAS.
3.0 Product Specifications & Installation Requirements
The Contractor shall provide a vertical automated storage system that maximizes storage density within the available installation space while providing secure, ergonomic access to stored tools and equipment.
Performance Requirements:
• Fit within the available installation space (approximately 100 ft L × 25 ft W × 15 ft H).
• Support a minimum distributed load of 650 kg per storage carrier.
• Support a minimum total system storage capacity of 19,000 kg.
• Include integrated safety features such as emergency stop devices, access protection, overload protection, and operator safety interlocks.
• Provide secure user access and inventory organization capabilities.
• Operate from Government-provided 400V, three-phase electrical service connected to a minimum 20-amp external isolator.
• Include complete installation, leveling, anchoring, testing, commissioning, and adjustment.
• Provide all operating manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Provide on-site operator training.
• Provide a minimum one-year warranty covering parts and labor.
3.1 Quantity Requirements
• The Contractor shall provide two (2) complete vertical automated storage and retrieval systems, including all associated hardware, controls, installation materials, testing, commissioning, documentation, operator training, and warranty necessary to achieve full operational capability.
