AIR FORCE RESERVE COMMAND

Salient Characteristics Specification

1. Project Title: Mobile Storage Racking and Shelves

2. Project Location: 934th Operations Squadron 760 Military Highway, Bldg. 830 Minneapolis, MN 55450

3. Description of Work: This project involves the work as described herein to be accomplished at the above location, with all labor, equipment, supplies and materials to be provided by the contractor. All work shall be accomplished under environmental conditions appropriate to the nature of the project.

Work will comply with all local, state, and federal regulations; to include NEC, EPA, OSHA, as well as USAF regulations.

A. Removal Storage Shelving Units - Building 830

1. Demo 2 Each - existing vertical storage units, 1st unit located in room 200 and 2nd unit located in room 202.

2. Demo material is to be hauled offsite by contractor and disposed of according to State of

Minnesota and Federal laws.

B. New Mobile Storage Shelving - Building 830

1. Install new mobile shelving unit in room in the West storage area Room 202 of building 830

2. Dimensions of shelving approximately 8’ L x 19’6” W x 10’ H

3. Color will be neutral to match existing storage unit with exposed shelving ends to be finished with High-Pressure Laminate End Panels

4. (2 each) Mechanically Assisted mobile carriages/ranges + (2 each) static ranges

5. Includes all uprights, shelves, supports, reinforcements, ramp, rail, and subfloor

6. Must include subfloor, ramp, and rail that is leveled with leveling screws and fully grouted for stability – No shimming of rail allowed

7. Mechanically assisted carriages must be geared so that one pound of force will move approximately 4,000 pounds

8. Must have drop in wheel assemblies on an all-welded carriage – no bolting or riveting

9. Rail must have overlapped and bolted joints

10. All shelf heights will be adjustable, so customer can alter individual shelf heights as needed to accommodate whatever is being stored. Shelves will be removable along with adjustable height.

a. All shelving will be at least 30” deep and will be solid flat, NOT wire mesh.

b. One 4 post shelving unit will be able to accommodate at least 60” L for large equipment items, minimum weight capacity of 350lbs.

c. One 4 post shelving unit will be at least 36” L to accommodate smaller equipment items and testers, minimum weight capacity of 250lbs

d. The remaining shelving will be 4 post units at least 48” L to accommodate equipment and parts storage, minimum weight capacity of 300lbs

e. One 4 post shelving unit will have at least 8 cantilever pegs to accommodate parachute storage, minimum weight capacity of 90lbs each with one shelf and canopy top

f. We need at least 48” aisle way for moving equipment in and out of storage rack.

g. Must be installed by factory-trained and certified technicians

h. Must have local representation within 25 miles for service and parts

4. Warranty: All materials shall be warranted to be in compliance with these salient characteristics specification and to the highest standards of the industry. Minimum warranty of 1 year.

5. Work Hours: The Contractor shall provide services between the hours of 0700-1600 on Monday through Friday, except on recognized US holidays or when the Government facility/installation is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government-directed facility/installation closings. Performance shall be at Building 830.
