c. Shrubs
i. Artemisia tridentata ssp. Wyomingensis – Wyoming Big Sagebrush 3.0 for broadcast rate No Drill Seeding allowed
d. Related Info:
i. In general, shrub seed should originate from areas within 300 miles of the project to insure compatibility with local conditions. It is vital that seed suppliers provide the most consistent and reliable sources of locally produced seed in order to meet the standards for native seed mixes used for reclamation work.
ii. Seeding grass at a heavier rate than shown is likely to reduce sagebrush establishment.
iii. The species described in the seed mix must be used at the rates required.
iv. Fall seeding is recommended for cool season grasses. Sagebrush seed should be applied over light snow cover (1” to 4”) for best results.
v. Seeding depth should be 1/4 inch or less for drilled seed.
vi. For broadcast seeding double the amount of drilled PLS. The seed bed should be thoroughly worked and firm.
vii. The following steps/documents are required:
1. Report of Seeding
MT-01009-9
2. Certification of Seed Mixture from the Seed Company, and seed tags from bags or a copy of seed tags for all planted material must be submitted to the COR prior to seeding.
