The Air Force Research Laboratory, Rome Research Site in Rome, NY requires Wright Line Lab Furniture.
Per FAR 8.002(a)(1), agencies shall satisfy requirements for supplies from existing inventories of the requiring agency prior to considering other sources. From previous reconfigurations & projects, AFRL/RI possesses in its inventory a number of the components for construction of the aforementioned lab furniture. All existing components are Eaton/Wright Line. All Eaton/Wright Line components, connections, hardware, and frames are proprietarily manufactured, and designed only to integrate/work/function with other Eaton/Wright Line equipment. This being the case, in order to be able to utilize the existing Eaton/Wright Line inventory as required by FAR 8.002(a)(1), the new components, parts, and frames to be acquired to complete the requirement must also be Eaton/Wright Line brand name. There are no other known brands that integrate/work/function with Eaton/Wright Line components. Despite, as aforementioned, being required to utilize the existing Eaton/Wright Line per FAR 8.002(a)(1), use of the existing Eaton/Wright Line inventory is also estimated to save the Government n parts/component costs that would otherwise need to be purchased new.
