About this file

This is an attachment containing alternate bid specifications for a bituminous seal coating project in Wisconsin under RFB 20-PW13, covering approximately 75,265 square yards. The work involves the application of bituminous material and aggregate to existing pavement surfaces. The alternate specification deviates from the main RFB 20-PW13 document only in sections G, H, I, and J, which address material type, application rates, sweeping procedures, and auxiliary equipment requirements. The primary differences from the standard specification include the use of CRS-2P emulsion bituminous material applied at 0.30 gallons per square yard and washed crushed granite quarry stone aggregate applied at 19±1 pounds per square yard. The contractor is responsible for accurate measurement of all work areas and must base their bid on their own measurements.

The specifications require the contractor to supply motorized or vacuum-type sweeping equipment to perform full pavement width sweeping 24 hours after material application. Contractors must also provide loaders, power brooms, power blowers, hand brooms, hand squeegees, shovels, and other necessary equipment to complete the work. The cover aggregate gradation requirements are specified by sieve size, with defined percent passing ranges for particles from 3/4 inch down to #200 sieve. All other specifications, pricing terms, contract conditions, and requirements not explicitly addressed in this attachment remain subject to the main RFB 20-PW13 document. This alternate specification provides bidders with an option to submit pricing based on different material standards than those specified in the primary bid documents.
