Installation Requirements and ChecklistiiiVersion No: 3.3

Installation Requirements The following is a list of the items that the local VA needs to provide prior to and during the AP installation onsite. Preparations for these requirements need to be completed prior to the installation teams arriving.

IT authorized escorts for the AT&T Teams onsite. The AP installation technicians will need to enter a multitude of spaces throughout the installation to run cabling and install the new APs per the site design. The teams will need IT authorized escorts with the appropriate access rights and keys for all rooms in all buildings for the APs that will be installed that day. There is not sufficient time for just 1 or 2 shared key sets.

Any permits required for the AP/cable installation have been obtained and uploaded to the VA Wireless SharePoint site VA personnel and ECU/barrier placement. The site is responsible for sterile area containment procedures and supplying the personnel to perform them. The options are:

Provide, install, set up, and move Environmental Containment Units (ECUs) at the pace of the installation Arrange for a sterile area cleaning crew to come in after the install team has finished their work in the area Any site-specific restrictions on the movements of the AT&T teams should have been communicated in advance via the Pre-Site Survey Questionnaire and Readiness Calls.

An e-mail alerting the entire facility and all tenants to the installation team’s presence onsite. It should advise personnel on what each team will be doing while onsite. Copies of this email should be provided to the IT authorized escorts for each of the AT&T teams. We recommend that this be done at the following intervals:

1 day prior to the team’s arrival Second full day of onsite work An area will need to be designated for the initial meeting that will occur first thing on the first day that the teams arrive onsite for the AP installation.

A daily work area/meeting place will need to be designated for the teams coming onsite.

Secure storage space for APs, cabling, and associated installation materials and tools will need to be identified prior to the start of the installation. In addition, there needs to be outlets to plug in rechargeable installation tools.

Arrangements made for the installation teams to work more than 8 hours per day. To complete the site on schedule it will most likely require the teams to work 10-hour days. Recommended hours are 12PM-10PM Monday – Friday to help avoid high patient traffic times.
