Security Statement of Work: Alarm Installation and Monitoring for Two NPS Facilities
1.0 Background: The NPS has two facilities that have been operated as restaurants for over 40 years.
Due to the ongoing global pandemic, the restaurants have closed or are about to close, and the buildings will become vacant. Both facilities are located in the Sutro Heights Historic with amazing views of the Ocean Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The historic district draws both locals and out-of-town visitors. The area is also known for frequent car-break ins, significant graffiti damage, and homeless encampments on the cliffs below the facilities. Occasional attempted break-ins have been reported to the National Park Service by the restaurant owners over the last few years. At this time, it is unknown when new restaurant operators will return to facilities.
Facility 1: 1090 Point Lobos Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121. The building, also known as the Cliff
House, was constructed in 1909 and is the third Cliff House on this site after the two previous Cliff
House buildings were destroyed by fire. The primary structure consists of a renovated historic structure and a major addition completed in 2006. It has been operated as a restaurant and bar through a concession contract for over 40 years. The restaurant a is closing to the public on
12/31/2020.
Facility 2: 902 Point Lobos Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121 (Formerly Louis’ Restaurant). Louis
Restaurant sits adjacent to the former Cliff House and has been operated by the Hontalas family since it was established in 1937. The restaurant closed permanent in July 2020.
