About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of an intrusion detection system for the Olympia Lab, a USDA facility experiencing repeated false alarm issues. The project requires installing a new system covering multiple buildings including the main building, maintenance building, pump house, warehouse, enclosed government parking area, and research planting area. Specific technical requirements include monitoring 19 doors across these locations, installing new glass brake sensors, removing in-room motion detection sensors, reusing existing low voltage wire if in good condition, installing six new arm/disarm keypad panels, connecting to existing off-site monitoring service, replacing alarm speakers, and utilizing existing beam sensors in the secured vehicle parking area. The contractor must be registered/licensed with a municipality as an Intrusion Detection installer and ensure all personnel are recognized professionals or supervised by professionals in commercial system installation. The project stems from Thurston County Police serving a violation notice due to frequent false alarms, with the agency indicating they will no longer respond to future alarms from the facility.
