About this file
These are engineering design drawings for a gas line repair project at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama. The project (PNQS 25-8705) involves multiple construction activities including cutting and capping existing gas lines, installing new gas lines of various sizes (2-inch, 1.25-inch, 3-inch, and 8-inch), running lines to Housing Office and Housing Maintenance, and adding poly line/tie-in with transition fittings. The drawings provide detailed site plans, construction plans, and technical specifications for gas line installation, including trench details, valve box settings, and erosion control measures. Key notes emphasize the importance of coordinating gas outages with base Civil Engineering at least 14 days in advance, maintaining vertical clearance from other utilities, and ensuring proper backfill and compaction. The project is a 100% Small Business set-aside with an estimated construction value between $250,000 and $500,000, to be executed by the Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command.

NOTES:
1. NEW GAS LINES SHALL BE INSTALLED BY DIRECTIONAL BORE AND/OR TRENCHING, METHOD WILL BE
DETERMINED AT THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY SIZE OF EXISTING SERVICE LINES PRIOR TO INSTALLING NEW
SERVICE LINES.
3. AT LOCATIONS WHERE NEW GAS MAINS AND SERVICE LINES CROSS EXISTING UTILITY LINES SUCH AS WATER MAINS, STORM DRAINS, ELECTRICAL LIONES, SANITARY SEWERS, STEAM LINES, ETC., A
MINIMUM VERTICAL CLEARANCE SEPERATION OF 12 INCHES SHALL BE MAINTAINED.
4. THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN HAVE BEEN LOCATED FROM FIELD SURVEY INFORMATION AND EXISTING DRAWINGS. THE ENGINEER MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT THE UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWN COMPRISE ALL SUCH UTILITIES IN THE AREA, EITHER IN SERVICE OR ABANDONED. THE ENGINEER FURTHER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE UTILITIES SHOWN ARE IN THE EXACT LOCATION INDICATED AL
THOUGH HE DOES CERTIFY THAT THEY ARE LOCATED AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE FROM
INFORMATION AVAILABLE. THE ENGINEER HAS NOT PHYSICALLY LOCATED ALL OF THE UNDERGROUND
UTILITIES.
5. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTALLING AND MAINTAINING ADEQUATE
EROSION/SEDIMENTATION CONTROL DURING ALL PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION.
6. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR KEEPING MUD AND DEBRIS OFF STREETS AND ROADWAYS. CLEAN-
UP IS REQUIRED DAILY.
7. ANY EXISTING AREAS DISTURBED BY WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT, WHICH ARE TO REMAIN, SHALL BE
RESTORED TO A CONDITION EQUAL TOO OR BETTER THAN ORIGINAL CONDITION.
8. ALL GAS OUTAGES WILL BE COORDINATED WITH BASE CE AT LEAST 14 DAYS IN ADVANCE.
9. ALL BASE GAS OUTAGES WILL REQUIRE A COORDINATION MEETING WITH CE TO INCLUDE ALL AFFECTED
PARTIES .
