About this file

This is a maintenance project specification document from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the I-75/Zilwaukee Bridge Ramps C and G package located in Buena Vista Township, Saginaw County. The project involves placing a 2-inch HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) overlay on two ramps: Ramp C, an I-75 southbound on-ramp from M-13 spanning 0.48 miles (Sta. 29+20 to Sta. 54+40), and Ramp G, an I-75 southbound off-ramp to M-13 spanning 0.41 miles (Sta. 6+00 to Sta. 26+50). Both ramps are 16 feet wide with shoulders. The work schedule requires completion between May 5, 2025, and May 16, 2025, with work to be completed within five consecutive calendar days of commencement. Contractors must provide a minimum of three calendar days' notice prior to beginning work to Dan Senske (989-233-1053) and confirm dates with Kirk Habowski (989-225-5978). No site visits or bidders' meetings are specified in this document.

This is a MDOT Maintenance-funded project with no allowance for overpayment or extras; all material, labor, and mobilization costs must be included in the bid price. The HMA specification is 5EML: PG 64-28 with an AWI of 260. Ramp G requires no detour as it will be coordinated with a concurrent project (JN 216727), while Ramp C detour will be handled by MDOT forces. Work on Saturdays and Sundays requires engineer discretion and preapproval. The project will be awarded to the low bidder subject to MDOT approval for funding, with MDOT reserving the right to reject unqualified bids. Before award, MDOT may request a site plan review meeting with the successful low bidder. All work must comply with the Michigan Department of Transportation 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction.
