About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics attachment for a federal contract opportunity to supply ski equipment for Fairchild Air Force Base's Equipment Checkout. The contractor must deliver 36 adult skis, 36 adult bindings, 50 junior skis, 50 junior bindings, 53 adult ski boots, 14 junior boots, and 39 pairs of adult ski poles. All equipment must be rental-grade, pre-mounted, and factory-tested, with specific requirements for sidecut ranges, ski sizes, binding din ranges, and boot specifications.
Detailed equipment specifications include adult ski sizes ranging from 130-179 cm and junior ski sizes from 70-140 cm, with corresponding binding and boot sizes. The bindings must be GripWalk compatible with specific din ranges (2.5-12 for adults, 0.75-7 for juniors), and boots must have metal bales/latches and be mid-entry style. Ski poles should be 44-56 cm with carbon or aluminum shafts. The delivery location is Fairchild AFB Equipment Checkout in Washington, with the contract specifying that while a Salomon S/MAX ski with M10 GW bindings is provided as an example, it is not a brand name requirement but represents the minimum quality standard.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. The contractor shall deliver 36 adult skis, 36 adult bindings, 50 junior skis, 50 junior bindings, 53 adult ski boots, 14 junior boots, and 39 pairs adult ski poles for the Fairchild AFB Equipment Checkout, 610 N Depot Ave, Fairchild AFB (FAFB) WA 99011. All skis, bindings, and boots will be of rental grade. Additionally, the contractor will pre-mount all skis with the bindings and factory test each binding/ski.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. The contractor will deliver via approved shipping method.
Rental grade equipment is defined as items that were designed for rental or multiple uses by multiple users and will be made of more durable materials. An acceptable example would be the Saloman S/MAX series ski with M10 GW bindings. THIS IS NOT A BRAND NAME REQUIREMENT. The system identified as an example is the minimum level of quality, durability, and ease of expected use. Factory testing will consist of individually testing each ski and mounted binding for twist and forward lean and is within the proper torque range.
