About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details requirements for a Military Working Dog (MWD) obstacle course for the 60th Security Forces Squadron (60 SFS). The vendor must provide a comprehensive obstacle course including five specific components: a double stairway (8' high, 24' long), a tunnel (18" diameter, 96" long), three hurdles with a window (adjustable heights 18"-36"), an A-frame (adjustable height up to 6'), and a cat-walk with incline, level, and decline sections.

Key contract requirements include a 12-month equipment warranty, inclusion of all freight/handling/labor charges, and delivery within 10 weeks of contract award. The obstacle course is designed to support daily physical conditioning for military working dogs, meeting standards outlined in SFTRG 7 and AR 190-12. The equipment must be lightweight, portable, and constructed of durable materials like high-density polyethylene, with safety features such as non-slip surfaces and cleats for traction. The point of contact after award is TSgt Justin D. Ridenour at 60 SFS, and an included diagram shows the recommended placement of equipment in an obedience yard.

Statement of Work

For

60 SFS/S3K Obstacle Course

Description: Following SFTRG 7 and AR 190-12, the 60 SFS requires an obstacle course that is standardized, free of broken and sharp pieces/edges to support training and maintenance of assigned military working dogs. The obstacle course is lightweight, portable, and meets the standards set by the Veterinary Corps Officer for health and welfare. Military working dogs require daily physical conditioning and the use of an obstacle course to maintain peak fitness and agility, which reduces both appropriate and non-appropriate expenses in medical care and the prevention of injuries. Military working dogs are required to navigate an obstacle course to remain in service successfully. Having a serviceable obstacle course allows the Defense Force

Commander to meet this requirement safely, ensuring the longevity of assigned military working dogs.

POC:

1. Equipment

The vendor shall provide the following equipment while meeting standards outlined in the regulations.

a. Double Stairway with only four connection points. Simply fit the two halves of the unit together and drop the pins into the hasps, which are already attached. No complex or detailed assembly is required. It will be 8’ in height and 24’ in length.

b. Tunnel 18" diameter X 96" long. Barrels 24" diameter X 35", 70", and 105".

Tunnel Crawl is constructed of high-density polyethylene, considered the

"workhorse of construction plastics," which outperforms and outlasts traditional metal and mineral materials in a wide range of applications. The tunnel is 18" in diameter and 8' in length, corrugated to provide strength and traction.

c. Three Hurdles and one window – 48" wide and 36" tall, with three fixed horizontal slats and three removable slats. This allows the hurdle to be adjusted to heights of 18", 24", 30", and 36" for ultimate versatility.

d. An A-frame – A-frame is constructed of non-slip materials at each point where the canine will walk or climb. Cleats are included for traction and safety. It can be adjusted in height from virtually horizontal to a maximum of 6', in increments of approximately 1/2".

CAO 13AUG25

3. All freight, handling, & labor charges must be included

4. The illustration below is the recommended placement for the MWD obstacle course.
