Statement of Need
For
Innovative Request: Automated and Secured AMXS Supply Point
6 MXS / AMXS
1.0. Scope: The 6th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 6th Maintenance Squadron Requests an innovative solution to our bench stock needs. To reduce human error, keep real-time inventory of stock items and program compliance we wish to look towards an automated computer assisted solution vs. legacy Vid-mar count system.
2.0. Minimum Automated Supply Point Requirements
2.1. Request 1 each supply point automated dispensing units sharing a common “brain.” In addition an automated weight scale integral and networked to the 1 each supply points is required to ensure inventory accuracy. All units must have caster wheels to relocate system.
3.0 Automated Supply point dimensions: Small item storage
3.1 One dispensing station should contain 15 dispensing doors on a carousel. The dispensing system must have no less than 1048 bins with 620 parts cups.
4.0 Automated Supply point dimensions: Large item storage
4.1 In addition a separate add on is required to accommodate larger items “bigger than nus, bolts, screws etc.” This larger “locker” will separately accommodate large landing gear bulbs, etc.
This add on system should have at a minimum 36 doors with a controller. The add on 11 Rows;
-4 rows should contain at least 4 dispensing doors measuring 6Lx6H inches
-4 rows should contain at least 2 each 6Lx6H dispensing doors and 1 each 6Hx12L” dispensing doors
-2 rows should contain at least 2 rows with 6Hx12L” dispensing doors
-1 row should contain at least 4 each 12H”x6L” dispensing doors
5.0 Integrated Scale requirements
5.1 The scale must be no larger 16”Wx 65”H x 16”D with scale at 37” up from ground level. The scale must be able to accommodate weights up to 30 lbs. with an auto zero capability. The scale sensitivity should be no greater than .0003 kg’s to measure small washers etc. The scale should be networked to the small and large dispensing units. This allows accurate count of dispensed items and automatic inventory adjustment.
6.0 Technical Requirements
6.1 To eliminate long wait times, the access to supply items internal to the carousel and lockers should be accessible in no longer than 10 seconds. A touchscreen human interface no smaller than 19”. The units should be able to hold at least 1000 lbs. To enable multiple users, proximity cards, fobs, CAC card access, bar codes, or keypad and PIN for access to the supply point. Power must be 100VAC 60HZ, with no greater than 5 amps. Software should allow the option to pull inventory reports accessible remote from a computer for maintenance and administrative oversight. This computer or external management system must be included. Overall software licenses must be included for both the client and server PC’s to allow 2 users and 5 each connections.
7.0 Overall Combined Supply Point Footprint
7.1 The overall footprint of all machines included in the automated supply point must not exceed 7 feet by 4 feet due to space restrictions.
8.0 Training
8.1. Training for the system must be provided to the operating personnel in accordance with standard commercial procedures.
