About this file
Summary
This is a General Prevailing Wage Determination document issued by the California Director of Industrial Relations for the Baker Family Learning Center Expansion project, applicable to commercial building, highway, heavy construction, and dredging projects across multiple Southern California counties including Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. The determination establishes mandatory prevailing wage rates for multiple craft classifications including asbestos workers, fire safety technicians, plumbers, carpenters, operating engineers, tunnel workers, building inspectors, laborers, and parking/highway improvement workers. The prevailing wage rates vary by classification, experience level, and shift type, with effective dates and expiration dates ranging from June 30, 2026 to August 31, 2026, depending on the specific craft determination.
The prevailing wage rates include base hourly wages plus employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation and holiday, training, and other benefits. For example, journeyperson carpenters have base hourly rates ranging from $36.67 to $112.74, with total hourly rates (including employer payments) ranging from $65.67 to $254.56, depending on specialization. Operating engineers have base rates from $63.40 to $71.75 with total hourly rates from $98.75 to $142.975, while laborers in various classifications earn base rates from $46.48 to $54.35 with total hourly rates from $75.09 to $80.71. Overtime rates apply for daily, Saturday, and Sunday/holiday work, with double-time compensation for certain conditions. All contractors must comply with travel and subsistence payment requirements per California Labor Code Sections 1773.1 and 1773.9, and asbestos removal contractors must be certified by the Contractors' State License Board and registered with the Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
