About this file
The provided document is a list of biobased products that could be used under the Allegheny National Forest Forestwide Fence Construction contract. The document describes four categories of biobased products:
Fuel Conditioners: Products that improve engine performance and efficiency by removing deposits, increasing lubricity, removing moisture, increasing cetane number, and preventing microbial growth. Minimum biobased content is 64%.
Gear Lubricants: Products such as greases or oils designed to reduce friction in toothed machine parts. Minimum biobased content is 58%.
Gasoline Fuel Additives: Chemical agents that increase octane levels, improve lubricity, and provide engine cleaning properties. Minimum biobased content is 92%.
Engine Crankcase Oil: Lubricating products that provide lubrication and wear protection for four-cycle gasoline or diesel engines. Minimum biobased content is 25%.
The related federal contract opportunity is for the Allegheny National Forest Forestwide Fence Construction project, which aims to build deer exclosure fences around timber stands to prevent white-tailed deer from browsing on tree seedlings. The contract will be awarded by the USDA Forest Service.

FUEL CONDITIONERS
Description: Products formulated to improve the performance and efficiency of engines by providing benefits such as removing accumulated deposits, increasing lubricity, removing moisture, increasing the cetane number, and/or preventing microbial growths within the fuel system.
Minimum Biobased Content: 64%
GEAR LUBRICANTS
Description: Products, such as greases or oils, that are designed to reduce friction when applied to a toothed machine part (such as a wheel or cylinder) that meshes with another toothed part to transmit motion or to change speed or direction.
Minimum Biobased Content: 58%
GASOLINE FUEL ADDITIVES
Description: Chemical agents added to gasoline to increase octane levels, improve lubricity, and provide engine cleaning properties to gasoline-fired engines.
Minimum Biobased Content: 92%
ENGINE CRANK CASE OIL
Description: Lubricating products formulated to provide lubrication and wear protection for four-cycle gasoline or diesel engines.
