SUBJECT: Aircraft Engine/Trailer Mover
1. The 97th Maintenance Squadron has a requirement to purchase an HD Trailer Mover. The HD
Trailer Mover is required to maneuver the C-17 Over-wing rescue stand and KC-46 body fuel tank trailers. This HD Trailer Mover will also be utilized to move hangar doors.
Following is a list of the salient characteristics the mover must have:
Specifications:
1. Must be able to push/pull weight of 35K LBS.
2. Must not require a lift for traction
3. Must be able to have pintle hook with a closed opening of 2 “.
4. Must be electric/battery operated
5. Must be able to have a charger that will work with 120/220 volt outlets.
6. Must be able to work in hangars and outside in dry or wet conditions.
7. Must have a safety stop switch for emergency braking.
8. Must have braking when put/switched to neutral.
9. Must have adjustable/variable speed control for operator to control speed.
10. Must have a battery level/discharge indicator.
11. Must have a creeper switch, for close tolerance movement.
12. Must have Safety Strobe when machine is in operation.
13. Must have a safety horn to warn others that machine is going to move.
14. Must have battery shut off switch for disconnecting battery power source for storing in Fuel
Maintenance hangars.
