Project CMNC Alarm System

General Information

1.0 Scope of Work

The scope of the project shall include to provide all materials, labor, equipment, appurtenances, and any other items needed to complete the project as described in the plans. Minimum required equipment list for system is below. System must meet all local, state and federal inspections. Contractor must coordinate, schedule, and be present for State Fire Marshal Inspection. The contractor shall also disconnect, remove, and legally dispose of all existing fire alarm system components.

2.0 Background

The Cranberry Mountain Nature Center (CMNC) is located 23 miles West of Richwood, WV along WV Rt. 39. CMNC was constructed in 1968 and is a timber frame structure. The structure has been improved over the last 55 years and is now in need of an updated fire alarm system.

Contractor Requirements

3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks

Contractor shall be licensed in the state of West Virginia and carry liability insurance. Contractor shall have 5 years of experience with installing fire alarm systems similar in scope to the subject project’s scope.

4.0 Government Furnished

Government shall furnish a key for access to the facility. Any items furnished by the government shall be returned before approval of final invoice. There are restrooms onsite, as well as power and water hookups.

Facility Hours are 8 AM – 4:30 PM Thursday-Monday.

5.0 Deliverables / Schedule

Key Deliverables

Item No. Deliverable Objective Due 1 Mobilization Contractor mobilize and de-mobilize to site with equipment, materials, and personnel to complete the project.

End of Period of Performance.

2 Demolition Disconnect and remove all existing fire alarm equipment, so that there are no extraneous pieces of equipment left upon completion of installation of new system.

End of Period of Performance.

3 Supply and Install Complete Fire Alarm System

Supply and furnish all materials, labor, equipment, appurtenances, and any other items needed to complete the project as described in the plans.

Minimum required equipment list for system is below. System must meet all local, state and federal inspections. Contractor must coordinate, schedule, and be present for State Fire Marshal Inspection.

Any items needed to comply and pass WV State Fire Marshal Inspection are incidental to Item #3.

End of Period of Performance.

4 Setup and Training for USFS Staff

Contractor shall provide adequate training for the staff at the CMNC to properly utilize, operate, and troubleshoot the system.

End of Period of Performance.
