About this file
This is a Measurement and Payment specification document for Sacramento County's Elk Grove Landfill Extraction Well Destruction project. The project involves the destruction of four extraction wells and includes seven contracted work items: mobilization and demobilization, preparation and obtaining well permits, eight-inch borehole pressure grouting, upper five-foot over drilling using hollow stem auger, well vault removal, surface repair, and management of cuttings and refuse. The contractor is responsible for computing all quantities with County verification and approval. Quantities in the bid schedule are approximate only, with final payment made for actual units and quantities incorporated into or made necessary by the work.
Payment will be made on varying bases depending on the work item: lump sum payments for mobilization and demobilization, well permits, well vault removal for each well, surface repair for each well, and management of cuttings and debris; per-foot payments for borehole pressure grouting and over drilling activities. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permit fees, and services necessary for completing the work. Full compensation includes all expenses related to measurement and conformance with contract requirements, with no additional compensation permitted. Rejected materials, waste, or material not unloaded from transporting vehicles will not be paid for, and the contractor is responsible for removing all rejected and unused materials from the site.
