About this file

The document is a Coring Plan for the New Youngs Bridge (BR 08306) located on US101 (Hwy 009) at Milepost 4.91, prepared for the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The project involves extracting 16 total concrete cores from the bridge deck, with specific sampling instructions including taking 4-inch minimum diameter cores at least 4.5 inches long, with one core in the wheel rut for every 10,000 square feet (not to exceed 12 cores total). The bridge, originally constructed in 1964, has a deck length of 4,208 feet, width of 35 feet, and a deck depth of 6-7 inches, with no existing overlays.

The coring plan provides detailed specifications for core extraction, including taking photographs of all cores, logging actual extraction locations, labeling cores with bridge and core numbers, and attempting to place cores near previous coring locations. The cores are to be taken at specific spans across the bridge, with precise GPS coordinates provided (46.176180, -123.868472). The document includes a comprehensive diagram showing the bridge's layout, span lengths, and exact core placement locations, ranging from Core 1 to Core 16, with additional notes about previous coring locations near bent #20 and bent #30.
