About this file
This document is a Memorandum for Columbus Air Force Base (CAFB) Contractors regarding the safeguarding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It outlines the procedures and requirements for contractors to handle CUI, including completing mandatory CUI training, signing an acknowledgment, and notifying the Contracting Officer of any improper CUI disclosure within 72 hours. The memorandum applies to all contractors and subcontractors at any tier who have access to CUI materials. Failure to comply may result in recourse such as retaking training, debarment from the base, or contract termination.
The related federal contract opportunity is for Lead Based Paint Testing services at CAFB. Interested vendors must complete the mandatory CUI training and return the acknowledgment document in order to access the Statement of Work. The contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary to perform an investigation for the presence of lead-based paint on interior and exterior painted surfaces throughout the buildings subject to renovation. An EPA and MDEQ accredited and licensed lead-based paint inspector will conduct the testing services.
