About this file
This document is a Work Item (WI-0101) for an Intermediate Hull Survey No. 7 for the USNS GUADALUPE (T-AO 200), a non-double hull tanker. The solicitation (N4044325Q0062) requires an ABS-approved ESP Hull Gauging firm to conduct comprehensive ultrasonic thickness readings across multiple ship structural components, including hull, bulkheads, deck plating, scantlings, and piping. The survey will be performed at two locations: Naval Station North Island (NASNI) with 25 measurement points and Vigor Shipyard with 11 measurement points.
Key requirements include providing a certified marine chemist to gas-free 36 cargo and ballast tanks, employing rope access technicians for measurements, using specialized ultrasonic equipment, and generating detailed reporting. The contractor must provide daily and final reports to ABS and MSCREP, develop composite drawings of measurement locations, and repair any disturbed coatings. All rope access personnel must be SPRAT or IRATA certified, and the survey must adhere to ABS Rules for Enhanced Survey Program (ESP) for Single Hull Tankers, with measurements to be taken during specified performance periods between 0800 and 1900 hours.
