About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details the replacement of a motorized vehicle gate at the Lower Portal Road entrance to Hoover Dam for the Bureau of Reclamation's Lower Colorado Dam Office. The project requires a turnkey gate replacement that prevents pedestrian traffic, meets current state, local, and federal regulations, and maintains the existing security perimeter. Key contractor responsibilities include removing old gate components, installing a new gate controller with remote operations capabilities, implementing safety loops and detection devices, reconnecting access control wiring, and ensuring compatibility with the government's access control system. The work will be conducted at the Hoover Dam Lower Portal Road Gate, with a performance period of one week starting 30 days after award, and requires contractor badges and an escort throughout the project duration.

The government will provide power and control wiring, while the contractor must supply all new wiring and additional equipment. The project site has limited power availability, and a portable restroom is available near the work area. The gate replacement must support remote operations, include safety features to prevent accidental closure, and allow continued vehicle access for dam workers. The contractor must also provide cutsheets and related materials to enable future maintenance by Hoover Dam personnel after the warranty period expires.
