GHLN 24-3875 B324 Sewer Line
Questions and Answers
1. Please confirm that work is only replacing the line between MH-2 and MH-4 and that MH-3 will be capped and abandoned in-place.
Govt’s Response: The line between MH-2 and MH-4 is new installation not a replacement.
The inlet of MH-3 will be capped and abandoned in-place.
2. Can the Government verify how many holes in the MHs will be “plugged”? Please confirm the number and sizes of core/holes in existing manhole to be plugged.
Govt’s Response: The existing outlet of MH-2 will be plugged when the new invert is poured. The inlet of MH-3 will be capped.
3. How deep will the new sewer line be placed?
Govt’s Response: The depth of the new line will be between 4 and 6 feet deep.
4. Statement of Work Utilities (2) references 4-inch, green Schedule 40 PVC sewer line. Please note that Schedule 40 PVC sewer pipe is white (not green). Green sewer pipe is identified as SDR
35 and would typically be used for an application like this job. Please confirm what pipe we should use; 4” Schedule 40 PVC (white) of 4” SDR 35 (green).
Govt’s Response: Schedule 40 PVC is the preferred material for this work.
5. Please clarify the type, color and size of pipe to be installed. Is SDR 35 acceptable?
Govt’s Response: 4-inch Schedule 40 PVC in either white or green.
6. Are there subcontractor licensing/certification requirements for this project? If so, please elaborate.
Govt’s Response: None required.
7. Please confirm that the SOW is from Manhole 2 to nearest manhole 4, centered on 15th Calvary only.
Govt’s Response: The SOW is to work in MH-2 and MH-4 (located in 15th Cavalry) and to install a new line between them. The SOW also includes capping the inlet of MH-3.
8. Are contractors required to only acquire FEW Hot Works and Dig Permits?
Govt’s Response: These should be the only permits required.
9. Can pothole debris be disposed of on base?
Govt’s Response: Pothole debris will be disposed of off base.
10. Does this project require QA/QC personnel?
Govt’s Response: QC testing is required.
