Definition of tool needed:
A Milwaukee M18 power hydraulic spreading tool. The spreader is the primary tool for spreading, pulling, lifting, and crimping when performing vehicle extrication of injured patients. In addition, the spreader is used by Rapid Intervention Teams members to rescue downed firefighters. The tools ability to be utilized without being tethered by bulky hydraulic lines to the hydraulic power unit, allows for rapid mobility and extended use. Multiple individual tools can also be operated simultaneously which is not possible with traditional hydraulic tools. A spreader that can be powered by the Milwaukee M18 High Output 8.0 can be recharged by already installed and utilized battery charging system on fire apparatus.
Maintaining the same M18 platform will seamlessly integrate already purchased in-service tools and equipment.
