About this file

This document contains an Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) for a nephrology physician providing services at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center. The OPPE evaluates the physician across six competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice based on a review of clinical records and feedback from peers and patients. For each competency, the OPPE rates the physician's performance as satisfactory, needs improvement, or unsatisfactory, and provides comments on any areas needing improvement. Based on the review, the physician's privileges are recommended to be continued. The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation by the Department of Veterans Affairs for nephrology physician services in Wichita, Kansas. The contract would be for a base year plus four optional years, requiring one half-day clinic per week and periodic on-call and call-back duties.
