b. A minimum of four (4) times throughout the project

c. At the completion of the retrofit installation prior to final inspection to confirm the system components has been installed in accordance with all installation guidance.

1.3 EXISTING ROOF SYSTEM AND TESTING

A. The existing roof assembly consists of a tar and gravel built up roof that has been analyzed for polyurethane fluid applied system with parapets and full roof drainage system.

B. Prior to any work on the retrofit truss system, the contractor shall have an inspection and report by a structural engineer licensed in the state of Florida. The inspection is required as part of the existing roof to retrofit roof fastening design to ensure that load paths and bracing is completed appropriately as part of the retrofit. The report shall directly address the structural soundness of alternative possible attachment points to meet the ASCE 7-16, IBC and FBC wind loads for the building’s location and category. Report shall also consist of pull out testing for evaluation and selection of framing system anchors to attach the new retrofit framing base members to the existing roof support system. The testing shall be conducted at multiple locations of the existing roof area using a calibrated pullout tester. Pullout values shall be recorded at each location for each specific anchor used. All anchors shall penetrate and attach to existing structural support members. The contractor shall have the attachment connection designed by the structural engineer to satisfy wind load and uplift values. The attachments shall connect to the retrofit truss system with details as provided and recommended by the retrofit system manufacturer. The report shall also address field compressive strength testing performed for evaluation of the existing roof substrate and membrane assembly. These values, recorded in pounds per square inch (PSI), shall be analyzed to determine if each retrofit framing system base member’s bearing surface area is adequate in size, to distribute the imposing positive loads as to not exceed the compressive strength of the existing roof substrate and membrane assembly. If the values exceed the compressive strength, then an additional bearing component of sufficient size shall be added
