The materials specification includes four 10-foot HSS tube squares (6" x 6" x 3/8" per ASTM A847), two 14-foot 3-inch HSS tube squares for girders, four end plates for girders, four 25-foot arched beams with specified bending radius specifications, eight end plates for arched beams, seventy flat bar roof latillas at 16 feet 4 inches each, and four column base plates—all fabricated from ASTM A847 or ASTM A588 corten steel per specifications. All materials must be delivered in manufacturer's original, new unopened containers with proper identification labeling. Submittals required with the bid proposal include shop drawing specifications cut sheets in PDF format and Buy American compliance documentation. Payment will be made according to the bid schedule based on measurement and delivery completion.

Statement of Work: Supply Metal Shade Materials

Delivery Location: National Park Service Headquarters, Moab, Utah

May 2026

PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS

PART 1 GENERAL

1.1 DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

A. General. Supply corten self-weathering steel materials for use as a metal framed shade structure.

B. Delivery Location and Instructions: Delivery is to be made at:

National Park Service, Southeast Utah Group Headquarters 2282 SW Resource Boulevard Moab, UT 84532

C. Delivery days and hours. Delivery shall be performed between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday. No Friday, weekend or Federal Holiday delivery will be allowed without prior approval.

D. Period of Performance. The overall period of performance for this project is 30 calendar days from award.

E. Warranty. Minimum terms include a standard one-year warranty.

1.2 SUBMITTALS

A. Submittals. Submit electronic cut sheets and required documentation in PDF format. The following submittal list is provided as an aid, if a submittal is required in the specifications but not on this list, it is still required.

1. Shop Drawing Specifications Cut Sheet: Submit with bid proposal.

2. Buy American: Submit with bid proposal.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 STEEL REQUIREMENTS

A. Salient Features:

1. HSS Tube Square:

a. Item: Column.

b. Standard: ASTM A847 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 6-inch x 6-inch x 3/8-inch.

d. Length: 10 feet

e. Quantity: Four (4).

2. HSS Tube Square:

a. Item: Girder.

b. Standard: ASTM A847 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 6-inch x 6-inch x 3/8-inch.

d. Length: 14-feet, 3¼-inches.

e. Quantity: Two (2).

3. Plate:

a. Item: End Plate for Girders.

b. Standard: ASTM A588 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 6-inch x 6-inch to 6-5/8-inch x 3/8-inch.

d. Quantity: Four (4).

4. HSS Rectangle:

a. Item: Arched Beam.

b. Standard: ASTM A847 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 6-inch x 4-inch x ½-inch.

d. Length: 25 feet.

e. Bending Radius: 17.9° along the 4-inch vertical axis. See sheet C3-Profile 2 & sheet C3-Detail C.

1. Inner Radius: 80’-1¼”.

2. Center Line Radius: 80’-3¼”.

3. Outside Radius: 80’-5¼”.

f. Quantity: Four (4).

5. Plate:

a. Item: End Plate for Arched Beams.

b. Standard: ASTM A588 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 6-inch x 4-inch x 1/4-inch.

d. Quantity: Eight (8).

6. Flat Bar:

a. Item: Roof Latilla.

b. Standard: ASTM A588 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 3-inch x ¼-inch.

d. Length: 16-feet, 4-inches each.

e. Quantity: Seventy (70).

7. Column Base Plate:

a. Item: Column Base Plate.

b. Standard: ASTM A588 “Cor-Ten” steel.

c. Size: 12-inch x 12-inch x ¾-inch.

d. Bolt Holes: per Detail A, sheet C3.

e. Quantity: Four (4).

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 Product Delivery and Handling

A. Delivery of Materials

1. Materials shall be delivered in the manufacturer’s original, new unopened containers bearing manufacturer’s recommendations.

2. Related miscellaneous items shall be delivered with proper identification labeling.

PART 4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

A. Measurement and payment will be made according to the bid schedule.
