About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the acquisition, installation, and training of a ProJet 2500 Plus 3D printer system by the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) under the Quick Reaction Engineering (QRE) Program.

The objective is to obtain a turnkey solution to replace DMEA's aging ProJet 3600 system, which is no longer supported, with the ProJet 2500 Plus model. The procurement includes the printer, spare parts, materials, training, software licensing, and remote technical support for a one-year period. Key requirements include: one ProJet 2500 Plus printer with 1-year parts and service warranty; six bottles of VisiJet HT250 plastic material and six bottles of VisiJet M2 support material; installation and training; software maintenance and updates; and technical support. The contract will be awarded to a single source, 3D Systems, the manufacturer of the ProJet 2500 Plus, but all responsible sources may submit quotes for consideration.

STATEMENT OF WORK

DMEA 24-4F9

1 December 2023 Project Engineer:

1.0 SCOPE:

1.1 TITLE: ProJet 2500 Plus acquisition, installation and training

1.2 APPLICABILITY: Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) Warfighter Solutions Programs, and specifically, the Quick Reaction Engineering (QRE) Program

1.3 BACKGROUND: DMEA’s projet 3600 model is no longer supported and has material limitation that restrict use of printed components to applications of interest. The ProJet 2500 Plus offers a suitable replacement of 3600 system as the facility requirements are one to one, but it also increases the material options to higher performance materials while enabling material swapping in the system. The post process equipment currently used can also support the new tool without having to acquire new supporting equipment or change the existing workflow used by the engineering team. The material jetting 3D printing technology is rapid prototyping tool used by DMEA to create custom electronic enclosures, testing fixtures and other mechanical solutions, for complex, application-specific requirements.

1.4 PURPOSE: The objective of this procurement is to obtain a turnkey solution to degraded capabilities that are still critical to DMEA’s existing rapid prototyping and fabrication capabilities. With the acquisition of a newer version of the current system, the ProJet 2500 Plus, along with the necessary installation, user training, spares of high wear components in the system and initial supply of processing materials for the system to enable full migration to a new system.
