Advance notification is required before interior pesticide applications, and no pesticide application is permitted in food preparation or storage areas without Government approval. Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park Scope of Work Preventive Pest Control Services – Historic and Sensitive Facilities Project Description Provide routine, preventive pest control services for government-owned buildings, including historic structures and sensitive facilities, using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Services are intended to deter and control pests while protecting historic fabric, museum collections, building occupants, and the surrounding environment.

Work Summary The contractor shall furnish labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform monthly pest control services, including inspection, treatment, monitoring, and documentation.

Scope of Services

· Conduct monthly inspections of interior and exterior areas for pest activity

· Apply preventive treatments to deter insects, rodents, and nuisance pests

· Treat building perimeters, entry points, foundations, and utility penetrations

· Provide additional service visits as needed if pest activity persists between scheduled treatments

· Coordinate all work with the Government to minimize disruption to occupants and operations Historic Preservation and Sensitive Environment Requirements

· All work shall be performed in a manner that avoids damage to historic materials, finishes, and character-defining features

· No drilling, fastening, or physical alteration of historic fabric is permitted

· Use least-toxic, targeted treatment methods consistent with IPM principles

· Pesticide applications shall be limited to areas necessary to control pests and shall not impact museum collections, archival materials, or sensitive equipment

· Contractor shall comply with NPS Preservation Briefs, Director’s Orders, and park-specific treatment restrictions Pest Control Methods

· Utilize Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies

· Use only EPA-registered pesticides approved for use in occupied buildings

· Follow all product labeling and applicable federal, state, and local regulations

· Target pests may include insects, rodents, and other common nuisance pests Safety and Environmental Compliance

· Comply with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable safety and environmental requirements

· Provide advance notification prior to interior pesticide application

· No pesticide application in food preparation or storage areas without Government approval

· Protect occupants, visitors, and natural resources at all times Documentation and Reporting After each service visit, the contractor shall provide a service report identifying:

· Date of service and buildings treated

· Pest activity observed

· Products and methods used

· Recommendations for corrective actions Safety Data Sheets (SDS) shall be provided upon request.

Period of Performance Monthly services for the duration of the contract period.

Performance Standards Services shall be performed professionally and efficiently, resulting in a measurable reduction in pest activity while preserving historic resources and minimizing environmental impact.

Preservation and Environmental Compliance This activity qualifies as routine maintenance with minimal ground disturbance and no adverse effect to historic properties when performed as described. Work shall be conducted in accordance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and applicable NPS policies.
